GRENZ FAMILY TREE

Albert (Albrect) Grenz born Feb 1872 in Germany, house painter
His wife Rose Grenz born Jan 1873 in Germany
Daughter Ethel Grenz born May 1897 in New York
They all lived in Brooklyn Ward 14, Kings, New York
at 95 Roebling

The article you sent about the baby over the Big Bridge mentioned that Albert Grenz lived at 91 Roebling Street in Brooklyn, New York.
This could have been a typo since the only Grenz living on Roebling Street just 3 years prior to the article was the above Albert Grenz and family.  The census was taken on 14 June 1900, so Albert would not have been born yet, since he was to be 3 years old on Jan 17, 1904.

In the 1910 census, this family is found living on Cedar Street in Brooklyn, New York. Albert and Rose have been married 11 years.  Their children are Alfred age 9, Clara age 7 and Charles age 4 all born in New York.  I think this Alfred may have been the Albert mentioned in the article.  Census takers did make mistakes as you know.

In 1920, This family is living on 109th Street in Queens New York.  This time the children are Albert age 18, Clara age 17, Charles age 13, Herbert age 9.  It seems like the first child Ethel must have passed away.  It says that Albert came to the USA in 1895 and Rose came in 1892.   So they must have married in New York? Now Albert is a painter in his own store.
In the 1910 census, it seems to say that Albert and Rose both arrived in the USA about 1894.
