Alice Remboldt, 68, Jamestown, died Tuesday, May 19, 2009,
at Ave Maria Village, Jamestown.
Alice F. Maier was born April 16, 1941, at Hazelton, N.D.,
the daughter of Gottlieb and Edna (Schnaidt) Maier. She
attended the local elementary school and graduated from
Streeter (N.D.) High School in 1959. She attended the Town
and Country Beauty College, James-town. She married Clyde
C. Remboldt on Aug. 12, 1962, in Streeter. They lived in
Gackle, N.D., where she worked for David's House of
Beauty, which she later bought and renamed Alice's Beauty
Salon.
In 1967 they moved to the family farm north of Gackle.
They lived there until 1991 when they retired from farming
and moved to Jamestown. In Jamestown she worked for
Wal-Mart until 2003. She retired in 2004. She entered
Hi-Acres Manor, Jamestown, in April 2008 and then entered
Ave Maria Village in March 2009. She was a member of St.
Lukes Lutheran Church, Streeter. She enjoyed embroidering,
crafting and craft shows, gardening and camping.
She is survived by her husband; two sons, Shawn (Cody),
Bismarck, N.D., and Shay, Centerville, Minn.; her mother;
a brother, Allen (Marge), Bismarck; and three sisters,
Carolyn (James) Burkle, Eagan, Minn., and Beverly (Arnie)
Schumaker and Paulette (Steve) Kirschenmann, both
Streeter.
She was preceded in death by her father, two brothers and
three sisters.
