Samuel J. Grenz - Obituary

Samuel J. Grenz, 33, died November 8, 2007 at his home from natural causes.

A service will be at 10:30 am on Tuesday, November 13, 2007 at First Lutheran Church, Mandan, with Pastor Rebecca Aardahl officiating.

The family will be receiving friends from 9:00 am to time of service on Tuesday at the church.

Samuel was born April 16, 1974 in Bismarck, the son of Doug Grenz and Sherie Weigum. He was raised in Mandan and is a 1992 graduate of Mandan High School.

Sam's kindness, politeness, and spirit endeared him to everyone who knew him. Family was important to Sam and he enjoyed every opportunity to spend time together. He had incredible creativity and a particular talent for art, Poetry, and construction. Sam was the owner of Siding Professionals in Mandan and remodeled his own home.

Sam will be sadly missed by family and friends and all who knew him which include his daughter Corri, Colorado; one son, Daniel, Mandan; his mother and step-father, Sherie and William D. Johnston, Welaka, Florida, his father and his special friend, Doug Grenz (JoJo Peltier), Mandan; one sister, Loranda Johnston, Texas; five brothers, Benjamin Carlson, Bismarck, Adam Grenz, Kansas, Cody Ackerman, Colorado, Alan and Patrick Johnston, both of Arkansas; grandparents, Kay and Charlie Nygaard, Mandan, Clifford D. Weigum, Belfield, and Albert and Arlene Grenz, Linton; aunts and uncles Judy (Al) Schaff, Dean (Carol) Weigum, Kim (Kirk) Volk, all of Mandan, Sheree (Cory) Howery, Wing, Denise (Gilbert) Geffre, Bismarck; several cousins; and his special friends, Katie Matthiesen and Frankie and Bridget Ereth, all of Mandan.
