Snap Shot - Walter

Wally attended grade school in Tower city, ND.  He joined the Army in 1961 for 2 years and was stationed at Fort Riley, KS.  He was worked on road construction since 1959.

Wally did have a knack for getting into trouble in his young years.  He and his sister Annitha "baptized" the chickens one Sunday after witnessing a baptism in church - except they held the chickens under water and drowned them!  Wally also remembers that they used to have a very mean goat that absolutely hated the girls!  The goat would charge at them as soon as he saw the, and the girls would all climb on top of the handiest fence-post to avoid getting butted.  Wally still recalls how funny it was to see four or five of his sisters perched on top of fence-posts!  Actually, the goat should have hated boys, since Wally has been known to drag that goat up into the haymow and then push the goat out through the door!  It is a wonder that animal survived!

Wally also remembers the Halloween when he and his buddies tipped over 6 toilets in Tower City.  However, someone saw them "having fun", so the Town Marshal made those boys set up 26 toilets the next day!
