Wallace A. Redlin Sr., age 93, of Watertown, formerly 
					  Summit, passed away on Monday, Feb. 11, 2013, at a care 
					  center in Menno. 
					   
					  Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 16 
					  at St. John's Lutheran Church, Mazeppa Township, rural 
					  Summit. The Rev. Jason Schulz will officiate. Music will 
					  be provided by Darlis Heuer as organist with 
					  congregational singing. 
					  Burial will be at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery in rural 
					  Summit. Pallbearers will be Rick Struss, Jim Redlin, 
					  Gordon Stormo, Alan Elshere, Kade Wheeler and Lance Heuer. 
					  Visitation will be at the Crawford Funeral Chapel in 
					  Watertown on Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. and prior to services 
					  at the church on Saturday. 
					   
					  Wallace was born on April 2, 1919, on a farm in rural 
					  South Shore to Robert and Theresa (Zirbel) Redlin. He 
					  attended Germantown 31 country school. Wallace was 
					  confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church in 1933. He worked 
					  the family farm until 1945 when he went into partnership 
					  with his brother, Ralph running the Gamble and 
					  International Harvester dealership. He bought out his 
					  brother in 1946 and also started farming on his own. 
					  On June 29, 1947, Wallace married Bernice Bieber at Trail 
					  City. He met Bernice at a social at the country school 
					  where she was a teacher and purchased her “May” basket. 
					  They ran Redlin Implement store until 1951, selling it to 
					  Alvin and Bea Struss. They continued to farm until 
					  retiring in the late 1970s. Wallace and Bernice enjoyed 
					  spending winters in Texas for the next 35 years. They 
					  moved from the farm in 2008 and into Benet Place. Bernice 
					  preceded him in death in 2009, at which time he entered 
					  the care center. 
					  He was well-respected in his community, church and by his 
					  family and friends. He was a very active member of St. 
					  John’s Lutheran Church where he held numerous offices. 
					  Wallace was part owner of the South Shore Grain Company. 
					  He also served as a board member for the Summit Elevator 
					  and the S.D. Crop Improvement Association. Wallace enjoyed 
					  traveling, fishing, hunting, reading and playing cards. He 
					  also enjoyed watching trains and observing heavy equipment 
					  operators working construction. In his earlier years, 
					  Wallace enjoyed playing in the Germantown band and 
					  visiting with his neighbors. He loved humor and practical 
					  jokes. 
					   
					  Wallace is survived by one son, Wallace L. “Wally” 
					  (Jeanne) Redlin of Hermosa; one daughter, LaVonne (John) 
					  Stedman of Woodbridge, Va.; three granddaughters, Valeria 
					  (Daniel) Wheeler of Moneta, Va., Cheryl (Clay) Wittaker of 
					  Pensacola, Fla., and Amy Stedman of Chicago; three 
					  great-grandchildren, Kade, Ashton and Oakley Wheeler; and 
					  one sister, Luella (Lee) Leonard of Watertown. 
					   
					  He was preceded in death by his wife, Bernice; his 
					  parents; seven brothers, Andy, Alvin, Ed, Ralph, Clarence, 
					  Robert and Earl; and six sisters, Della, Irene, Lorraine, 
					  Gladys and two infant sisters, Leona and Eleanor.

					  Funeral services for 
					  Bernice E. Redlin, age 81, of Watertown, 
					  SD, will be at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 25, 2009, at 
					  St. John's Lutheran Church, Mazeppa Township, rural 
					  Summit, SD. Rev. Jason Schulz will officiate. Music will 
					  be provided by Darlis Heuer, as organist, with 
					  congregational singing.  
					  Bernice passed away on Wednesday, April 22, 2009, at a 
					  hospital in Sioux Falls, SD. Burial will be in St. John's 
					  Lutheran Cemetery, rural Summit. Pallbearers will be: Gene 
					  Redlin, Alan Elshere, Rick Struss, Gordon Stormo, Rick 
					  Bieber, and Loren Leonard. Visitation will be at the 
					  Crawford Funeral Chapel in Watertown on Friday from 4 to 7 
					  p.m. and Saturday prior to services at the church. The 
					  family is requested to meet at the church on Saturday, by 
					  1:30 p.m., for a prayer service.  
					   
					  Bernice was born on September 4, 1927, in Corson County 
					  near Trail City, SD, to Henry and Bertha (Zeller) Bieber. 
					  She graduated from Mobridge Lutheran Academy and received 
					  her Teacher's Certificate from Northern Teacher College. 
					  Bernice taught a couple of years at Lura country school in 
					  Grant County.  
					  On June 29, 1947, Bernice married Wallace "Wally" A. 
					  Redlin in Trail City, SD.  
					  The couple ran Redlin Service and farmed north of 
					  Watertown. They sold the store in 1951, but continued 
					  farming until retirement. Wally and Bernice moved into 
					  Watertown in 2008. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran 
					  Church, where she was the Sunday school superintendant for 
					  many years. She also belonged to various 4-H and extension 
					  clubs and chaired many election boards.  
					  Bernice enjoyed traveling and wintering in Texas with 
					  Wally. She also enjoyed quilting, gardening, cooking, and 
					  researching family genealogy. Bernice always loved to 
					  entertain people.  
					  Bernice is survived by her husband, Wally, of Watertown, 
					  SD; one son, Wallace, and his wife, Jeanne Redlin, of 
					  Hermosa, SD; one daughter, LaVonne, and her husband, John 
					  Stedman, of Woodbridge, VA; one brother, Robert, and his 
					  wife, Teresa Bieber, of Yankton, SD; two sisters: Pearl 
					  and her husband, Verne Barrett, of Rapid City, SD, and 
					  Lyla and her husband, Tim VanOrman, of Mandan, ND; three 
					  grandchildren: Valerie and her husband, Daniel Wheeler, 
					  Cheryl Stedman, and Amy Stedman; and three 
					  great-grandchildren: Kade Wheeler, Ashton Wheeler, and 
					  Oakley Wheeler. She was preceded in death by her parents 
					  and two brothers.
