                    Albert G. Grenz was born March 8, 1916 at 
                    Artas, SD the son of Gottleib and Christine (Wentz) Grenz.  
                    Albert attended school in Napoleon, being involved in all 
                    types of sports.  He served four years in the U.S. 
                    Marine Corps (Pacific) and was employed for ten years at the 
                    hardware store in Lehr, ND, ten years as a meat cutter in 
                    Breckenridge, MN and ten years at the K-Mart store as 
                    department manager. 
                    In his second marriage, Albert was married 
                    to Marie Langness on August 1, 1973 at Watertown, SD,  
                    Albert had four children, one deceased, and Marie has six 
                    children, all living.  They have 19 grandchildren from 
                    the two marriages. 
                    Albert is a member of the Memorial Rifle 
                    Squad, Ft. Snelling: V.F.W.; American Legion and K.C.'s. 
                    Marie has been President of the V.F.W. Auxiliary; Cooties 
                    Auxiliary and is presently junior vice in the 4th District 
                    V.F.W. Auxiliary. 
                    In the past 15 years, Albert has made two 
                    trips around the world visiting 27 countries and climbed Mt. 
                    Kilimanjaro in 1972.  They are affiliated with he 
                    Catholic Church. 
                    Albert remembers how on Saturday nights 
                    everyone would go to town.  He was a helper in the 
                    general store with his brothers, and farmers as well as 
                    towns people would buy a week's supply of groceries and 
                    deliver eggs and cream.  The street was always full of 
                    cars, and after shopping everyone would sit around and visit

              Albert G. Grenz 
              Albert, age 83 Years., resident of St. Paul, 
              died on March 18, 1999.  Preceded in death by son, Graves; 
              brother Eugene; and sister, Ida.  Beloved husband of Marie; 
              father of Gerald (Joyce), Ginger (David) Kropp, Garlet Graff; 
              stepfather of Mary Stream, Madelynn (Bob) Haumschild, Maxine (Ed) 
              Proetz, Michale (Nancy) Langness, Marcell Loren, Margaret (David) 
              Adams; brother John, Willie, Christine, Elsie; 21 grandchildren.  
              Prayers from the Phalen Park Funeral Home, March 22, 9:30 A.M..  
              Mass of Christian Burial 10 A.M.. Monday from St. Jerome's 
              Catholic Church.  Interment National Cemetery (Fort Snelling 
              Veterans Cemetery). Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-8 
              P.M..  Sunday with a parish vigil at 7 P.M.  
              Past Commander of the Roseville VFW  Post.  
              Past Commander of DAV, member of American Legion Post 474, Marine 
              Corps League and founder of the 6th Defense of Midway island 
              Reunion and Fort Snelling Memorial rifle Squad.
