Bonnie Smith (Freimark,
Stuckle)
Bonnie Smith, age 70, beloved wife, mother,
grandma, sister, aunt and friend passed away unexpectedly on
January 16, 2010. Bonnie was born on October 25, 1939 to
John and Ernestina Freimark at the family farm in Eureka,
South Dakota.
She moved to Seattle, Washington at the age of 16 and
married Clarance Stuckle in 1956. Together they raised a
family of three children at their home in the Alderwood
Manor area. They attended the Alderwood Manor Community
Church. Her husband worked at Boeing.
She drove a school bus for the Edmonds School District from
1969 until her retirement in 1997. In 1989 her husband,
Clarance, died.
Bonnie always had an interest in decorating cakes. She
started her own business, Cakes on the Move. She sold
wedding cakes through the Spiral Staircase in Lynnwood,
Washington. Bonnie had a passion for taking pictures and she
always had her camera ready to take that perfect shot. She
also loved sewing and created outfits for her children and
herself.
She made many lifelong friends in all of her adventures. Kay
Weitz was a fellow bus driver who introduced Bonnie to
Square dancing. It was there that she met her husband, Mike
Smith. They danced with the Checker-boad Squares. Bonnie
also worked at the Petticoat Junction clothing store. While
working there she was know as "Opal."
In 2003 Bonnie married Mike Smith. They were married at
Mount Rushmore in South Dakota surrounded by family.
Mike and Bonnie resided in Lynnwood and belonged to the
Boeing Employees Stratocruiser's car club where they showed
off their car, "Maxine." Bonnie was also a member of the
SnoKing Stamp Club. One place Bonnie and Mike always met
with their respective clubs was her family's restaurant
Shawn O'Donnell's. Getting together there for Saturday
morning breakfast with family was a priority. Bonnie loved
her family most of all and nothing made her happier than a
big family get-together.
She is preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Delphia
Schick and Audrey Bauer; her first husband, Clarance Stuckle.
She is survived by her husband, Mike Smith; children,
Charlotte (Danny Gordon, Tina (Shawn) O'Donnell and Tim

Mom, we know you are in God's special place - there with all
your old friends and family, parents and sisters. A place
where your shoes always match your outfit, the kitchen floor
is always clean, and your shoulder doesn't hurt anymore.
A memorial service is planned for 1:00 p.m., Thursday,
January 21, 2010, at the Mukilteo Presbyterian Church, 4514
84th St SW, Mukilteo. A potluck lunch and fellowship will
follow at the church. Viewing will be at noon prior to the
service.
In lieu of flowers, a donation made to the Lynnwood food
bank is suggested.
