Delbert A. Pfeifer, 78, of La Verne passed
away February 26, 2007, at Pomona Valley Hospital Medical
Center. He was born May 5, 1928, in Zeeland, N.D. and was a
resident of La Verne for 36 years. Mr. Pfeifer was a
chemistry teacher at Pomona High School for 12 yea rs, and
had worked as an executive director for the Pomona Teachers
Assoc.
He was a U.S. Army veteran and served from 1951 to 1959. Mr.
Pfeifer earned his Bachelors degree from the University of
Washington and his Masters degree from Purdue University. He
was a member of the First Baptist Church in Claremont;
P.D.K., Pomona Host Lions; Southern California Overseas
Teachers; and Germans from Russia Heritage Society.
Surviving is his wife of 43 years, Judy Pfeifer of La Verne;
son and daughter-in-law, Ron and Esther Pfeifer of Othello,
WA; daughter and son-in-law, Don and Randa Roland of Santa
Cruz; sisters, Sandra Evans and Charlene Septka, both of
Yakima, WA; grandchildren, Semeia, David, and Zoe Pfeifer of
Othello, WA. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at
Pomona Valley Memorial Park Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers,
donations may be sent to First Baptist Church, 427 N.
Mountain Ave., Claremont, CA 91711 or the Pomon a Host Lions
Club, P.O. Box 3085, Pomona, CA 91769.
