George R. "Grandpa George" Bieber, 61, of Kansas
City, MO, passed away Sunday, October 21, 2001, at
Veterans Hospital. Funeral services will be 10
a.m. Wednesday, October 24, at D.W. Newcomer's
Sons White Chapel Funeral Home; burial in White
Chapel Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 6-8
p.m. Tuesday at the chapel. Memorial contributions
may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Mr. Bieber was born December 26, 1939, in
Mobridge, SD. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and
served on the USS Carpenter. He was a member of
Gladstone Baptist Church and Alcoholics Anonymous
for over 20 years. His hobbies were gardening and
stained glasswork, and he loved music. He was
preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Bertha
Bieber, and brother, Henry K. Bieber. He is
survived by his wife, Dianna M. Bieber, of the
home; six stepchildren; five grandchildren; and
brother, Bob Bieber, and three sisters, Lyla Van
Orman, Bernice Redlin and Pearl Barrett, all of
