Leo Brinkman
95, Wishek, N.D., died Tuesday, Aug. 22,
2006, at Moorhead Healthcare Center, Moorhead, Minn.
Mr. Brinkman was born Nov. 6, 1910, in rural McIntosh County
near Danzig, N.D., the son of Henry and Elizabeth (Corey)
Brinkman. He grew up on the family farm northeast of Danzig
and attended McIntosh County Schools. He married Marie Serr
of Hazelton, N.D., on Sept. 23, 1945. They farmed north of
Danzig on the Pudwill homestead. They moved to Wishek in
1953. He sheared sheep in the tri-county area until 1980
when he was employed as a farmhand for Vernon Kramer. He
moved into assisted living facilities at Wishek Nursing Home
in October 1999. In March 2003, he moved into an assisted
living facility in Dilworth, Minn., to be near his children.
He enjoyed duck, goose and deer hunting, fishing on Green
Lake and Clear Lake, western movies and playing cards,
especially pinochle.
He is survived by three sons, Stanley, Bath, S.D., Randall
(Sally), Hager City, Wis., and Russell (Heidi), Rogers,
Minn.; five daughtersle(Larry) Thilimony, Ashland, Mo.,
Patricia (Wilbert) Morlock, Watertown, S.D., Susan (William)
Johnson, Burnsville, Minn., Sinthia (Richard) Menholt,
Felton, Minn., and Kathryn Brinkman, Dilworth; 15
grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; five
brothers, Henry, Fred, Joseph, Amos Sr. and August; and five
sisters, Inez, Ethel, Josephine, Florence and Faye.
