Marvin Lang,
75, Jamestown, died Friday, Sept. 3, 1999, at his home.
Mr. Lang was born Dec. 18, 1923, at the family farm home
south of Cleveland, N.D., the son of Fred and Emma (Haas)
Lang. He attended the local rural school where he received
his elementary education and grew to manhood in the
vicinity. He later attended North Dakota State School of
Science, Wahpeton. He married Olga Flemmer Oct. 21, 1952,
near Streeter, N.D. They lived on a farm 10 miles northeast
of Gackle, where they farmed four years until buying a farm
10 miles southwest of Streeter. They farmed there until 1995
when they moved into Jamestown. Shortly after he was
diagnosed with cancer. He attended the Seventh-day Adventist
Church, Jamestown. He enjoyed collecting toy tractors and
going to toy shows and museums in the area.
He is survived by his wife; two sons, Darvin (Elaine), West
Fargo, N.D., and Darrell (Carlene), Canon City, Colo.; a
daughter, Donna (Ken) Roth, Denver, Colo.; a twin brother,
Elroy (Maxine), Jamestown; and three grandchildren. He was
preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Clarence.
Services: 1 p.m. Monday, Sept. 5, Seventh-day Adventist
Church, Jamestown, with the Rev. Dennis Kaiser officiating
and the Rev. Marty Thurber assisting. Arrangements by Haut
Funeral Homes, Jamestown.
Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Jamestown.
