Patricia “Pat” Morlock,
age 68, of Watertown, SD, passed away peacefully on
Saturday, November 25, 2017 at her residence. Funeral
services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 29,
2017 at Grace Lutheran Church in Watertown with Pastor Janet
Miller officiating.
Visitation will be from 4:30-7:00 p.m., with a prayer
service at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday at the Wight & Comes Funeral
Chapel in Watertown.
Interment will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Watertown, SD.
Pallbearers are Mark Morlock, Marlow Morlock, Marty Morlock,
Brent Brinkman, Andrew Lentz and Jacob Lentz.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Grace
Lutheran Church Foundation.
Patricia Rae (Brinkman) Morlock was born on August 17, 1949
to Leo and Marie (Serr) Brinkman in Eureka, South Dakota.
Pat grew up in Wishek, North Dakota and graduated from
Wishek High School in 1968.
In 1966, she met Wilbert (Will) Morlock, the love of her
life, in a family wedding where they were both attendants.
They were joined in marriage on October 12, 1968. They
recently celebated their 49th wedding anniversary.
Following their union they moved to Brookings, South Dakota
where Will attended college and Pat worked at Brost’s
Fabrics, with her lifelong friend Ginny Jensen. Once Will
graduated and started his career, they resided in the South
Dakota communities of Faulkton, Huron, and Chamberlain,
before their final move to Watertown in 1980. This was a
location that Pat thought they would only be at for a short
time, little did she know that she would make this their
forever home.
Blessed to their union was Rebecca in August 1972 and
Matthew in July 1977.
Her greatest accomplishment in life was raising her children
and grandchildren. She was also a sought-after bridal
seamstress and did general alterations. Over her years in
Watertown, Pat worked at Feinstein’s, Watertown Home and
School (DDS Agency), and then finally Prairie Crossings.
Pat’s passions were sewing, quilting, traveling, caring for
her flowers and taking care of her grandchildren. She
enjoyed her time in Dorcas Grace Lutheran quilt group, Bev’s
quilt group, and Joy Ranch quilt group.
Grateful for having shared in Pat’s life are her husband,
Wilbert; her children and grandchildren, Rebecca (Adam)
Reeves, Abigail and Allison of Watertown, and Matthew
(Andrea) Morlock, Blake and Easton of Brookings; her sisters
and brothers, Sharon (Larry) Thilmony of Ashland, MO,
Stanley Brinkman of Aberdeen, SD, Susan (Bill) Johnson of
Burnsville, MN, Synthia (Richard) Menholt of Felton, MN,
Katherine Brinkman of Fargo, ND, Randall (Sally) Brinkman of
Haegar City, WI and Russell (Heidi) Brinkman of Rogers, MN;
brothers and sisters-in-law, Elroy (Arlene) Morlock of
Sidney, NE, Marvin (Mary) Morlock of Eureka, SD and Ardella
Sedivec of Mandan, ND; special friends, Ginny (Jerry)
Jensen, Betsy Lentz (Mark Stadheim) and Del Caulfield; and
many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; Leo and Marie
Brinkman; Will’s parents, Edward and Lea Morlock; and her
brother-in-law, Delbert Sedivec.
