Robert Serr, 77, Bismarck, died January 20,
2004 in a local hospital after a short bout with cancer.
Services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday at McCabe United
Methodist Church, Bismarck, with the Rev. Rick Fossum
officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM Friday at
Eastgate Funeral Service where a prayer service will be held
at 7:00 PM. Visitation will continue for one hour prior to
the service at the church.
Robert was born September 5, 1926, at Temvik, ND, the son of
Henry and Louisa (Grenz) Serr. He attended Sandcreek Country
School. He married Carol Tuttle on November 25, 1955 in
Bismarck. They lived in several places including, Linton,
ND, Gainesville, MO, Bowdle, SD and then moved to Bismarck
in 1965. He worked for International Harvester Co., in
Bismarck, as a diesel mechanic for 21 years. He retired at
the age of 62 and then began working weekends for Melroe
Bobcat for seven years.
Robert enjoyed playing cards and Mexican Dominoes, fishing,
horseshoes, hunting, camping, and pulling his children on
water skis.
Robert is survived by his wife Carol of 48 years; two sons,
Robert H. Serr, Jr. and his fiance, Wanda Piatz and Charles
Lee Serr and his wife Roxanne; one daughter, Connie Lynn
Morris and her husband Troy, three grandsons, Cody Serr and
his fiancÚ Amanda Kuntz, Jacob Serr, and Keenan Morris; two
granddaughters, Brandi Serr and Jasmyne Morris; one
great-granddaughter, McKenzie Serr; one brother, Henry
(Edna) Serr of Hazelton, ND; and three sisters, Leona
Kiemele of Bismarck, Bertha (Ben) Sikel of Billings, MT, and
Martha (Robert) Roe of Olympia, WA.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, and
six sisters.
