Tim Grenz Memorial Scholarship

Tim Grenz was a music major at Dickinson State College graduating in 1970. Tim was a fine trumpet performer who made an exceptionally fine contribution to the activities of the various music organizations on campus.

Following graduation he taught successfully in a high school music program in Grenora, North Dakota, for two years. In 1972, he underwent surgery for a brain tumor resulting in loss of physical coordination and speech facility while retaining his mental capacities.

In 1978, Tim Grenz succumbed to complications resulting from a return of the tumor. Tim’s school and personal friends have established this Tim Grenz Memorial Scholarship for a deserving music major, preferably a trumpet performer.
