Viola
H. Michel, age 85, a life- long resident of
Othello, WA, passed away at Beverly Health Care on Tuesday,
October 7, 2003, of natural causes.
Viola was born January 27, 1918 in Warden, WA, to Phil and
Ottilie (Rauter) Hermann.
Viola married Clayton Michel, August 21, 1941, they were
married for 25 years.
She was born and lived all her life in the Othello area. She
worked as an elementary school teacher, and helped on the
ranch, she was a hard worker all her life. She donated the
land for the First Presbyterian Church and the middle school
next to it.
She lived a rich and full life filling her time with
fishing, gardening, farming, traveling the world, her pets,
playing the piano and organ, ice skating, snow sledding,
walking, she made Christmas candy divinity, and loved going
on long drives.
She also enjoyed the hunters that came onto her land for
game.
She belong to Beta Sigma Phi, the Rodeo Association, and the
Cub Scouts.
She is survived by her two sons, Dwayne C. Michel of
Othello, WA, and Phil N. Michel of Mattawa, WA;
one sister, Lorene Campbell of Warden, WA. She had 6 grandchildren and 6
great-grandchildren.
She was proceeded in death by her parents, and two sons,
Darrel and Mark Michel.
